Old-school trophies were never like this...

My son deadlifted 562 lbs. in a powerlifting competition
in monterey - it wasn't his best lift, but was good enough to win.

he got this curious trophy (no, i wasn't the model for it):

I'd make a 600 lb trophy and say whomever can pick up and take it home wins.
I'm not sure what the hell that thing came from. It may be a hit at a gay pride parade though!

This didn't happen to be called the Fausto Powerlifting Classic, by any chance???

You'd think they would give a bigger trophy to someone who can put up 1/4 of a ton....

your son has THE BIGGEST quads i have ever seen in my life...good god! how the heck does he buy pants that fit him?

he's a freak of nature, no doubt;
that's why his lifting nickname is "Tree."

somebody told me that all he has to do is learn
German & he'll be the next Governor of California.

Dam he has big quads!

Strong mofo and that trophy is a bit freaky...

Congrats for him.

bah,
people who do stuff like that have extremly disproportional bodies... I'll stick to my general workout

wtf?

This dude competes in DL he is of course going to have huge legs. Kind of asking a guy in sumo if he is small?! Or a jockey if he is big?!

It isn't really disproportional imo. Just that he is wearing a t shirt and I bet his body is just as thick to support his legs. Same with his arms. Also people are more use to seeing people with big arms then big legs. At my OL club most people have big legs and thin legs is the exception to the rule.

It takes a strong upper body as well to dead lift correctly. A normal picture of him would probably show off his physique better. A properly done deadlift also hits your lats, traps, and shoulders.
