Old school trance fans. A recording from 1995 and can't figure out who it is.

I got this tape back in good ol 1995.

It was my first trance tape, the one that started it all. But I can't figure out who it is.

I thought it was Kimball Collins for the last 10 years as it appeared about the same time he spun in Charleston in the summer of 95", but I was able to chat with him and forwarded him the mp3 and got confirmation that it was not him.

The other lead is that it may be from the Liquid Sky label. Could mean something, probably not but it's a lead nonetheless.

The file is 8.20mb, so I suggest only downloading it if you plan on trying to figure who it is, or enjoy really good old school trance. There is one place on the tape where it had popped from being played too much, so it was taped. But one bad place on the tape isn't bad for as many times as it had been played.

The original MP3 after being converted from a tape to MP3 came out to 47mb, Putfile made me trim it down so thats how it ended up at 8.2mb. So that should explain the crappy quality.

Also interested in the name of the 2 songs between 18:00 and 30:00 minutes in.

Listening. Gimme a minute.

edit: Love that old school flavor...very consistent and not distracting, but you don't get bored and it builds slowly throughout to a great tempo and a much more complex beat. More enjoyable than the typical sh#t that keeps getting cranked out these days. That whole set seems a bit more rough than a lot of straight-up "trance" that I'm used to, though...almost seems like it would fit into another genre. Mid-90s trance that I'm familiar with is rarely that upbeat and in-your-face.

I hate most of the new electronic music coming out these days aside from some jungle, so I've been delving back a bit... A current favorite is the "One Love" album by Electric Universe, in case haven't already been all over that. ;) Incidentally, it also came out in 95, albeit just barely.

Gloria is indeed the track just before the 2 songs starting around 18mins in.

if I could get one more track ID I could probably google a match if it was ever a release as opposed to a mix tape.

I dug around on discogs and looked at all the mix compilations that Gloria appeared on. I tracked down other songs on those albums and listened to them and verified that it is not any of those.

I know it sounds like a long shot but someone else has to have heard this. Mix tapes back in the day could get popular: example - If you were into DnB in the mid nineties in the south and I mentioned "the Monk" tape, you would know which one I'm talking about. I'm hoping this tape is the same way.

I would post in a couple music/dj forums, you might get more responses there. I listened to it twice, but I've never heard it before.
