Hey guys,

I've been moving components around in my computers and I stumbled upon a problem: AWE64 and XP. The card works fine when I boot with 98, but XP has problems:

If I search for new hardware, it won't find it. If I try and manually add it, it suddenly finds it, but no sounds play.

Winamp crashes and if I try playing a wav, it just takes forever (with no audible sound).

Creative's site has no drivers for XP (it says it comes with XP)

Once again, I'm sure its not hardware since it works just fine when I boot into it with win98.

Thanks again

Is WinXP using a shared IRQ with your AWE64? By default, ACPI will attempt to lump all your devices into one virtual IRQ. Unfortunately, you can't and shouldn't do this with legacy ISA devices.

Hey, what *IS* ACPI anyways? It's causing a conflict that will not allow my PCI video card to work and I'm stuck at 640x480x16 colours!

I have no clue if it is trying to do that, I look and see that nothing else is using IRQ 5 (the one the SB is on)...if that is what you mean *looks for a way to turn it off...*

I only have one ISA slot:

P3V4X...the part that pisses me off is that it works in 98 so I KNOW it is driver issues.
