Old School Memory help

I have a Dimension E520 and I got a stick of 512mb ram for dirt cheap, but I'm getting BSOD when I load up. :/

I get past everything, even past the splash screen! 🙁

I honestly don't know whats wrong, could the speed of the RAM be the problem?
The dell ones say PC2-4200 and the stick i have says PC2-5300

The stick is (http://www.ebay.com/itm/HYS64T64000HU-3S-B-512MB-1RX8-PC2-5300U-555-12-/120837580268) but i got it locally

That looks like a ATI driver BSOD.

soo boot into safe mode and uninsatall all ATI drivers CCC etc. and then boot into normal mode and tell us if you can get into windows without the ati driver error. gl

it can be caused by a little stick of ram?

You need to make a Memtest86+ boot CD, and boot off of it. If the memory test shows errors, then try putting that new stick of RAM in by itself and run the memory test. It can tell you if it's bad.
