I'm not sure if I will be outputting any WUs after tomorrow. It's looking like starting KLinux on the Wildnet computers once a day or so may be wearing out their floppy drives. I already knew it wore out the floppy disks, but the drives get ~1/8 the use.
Nothing is definitive yet. I'll try to have this cleared up by sometime tomorrow. But you might want to consider what the race would look like without me.
Ken, you are on my team and I say we will go on with the race whatever your circumstance.
Floppy drives are very cheap. I see them listed on PriceWatch for only $3 each + shipping. If that is the only way you have to run SETI, you might want to just buy a 1/2 dozen and change 'em out when they burn out. But no worries, just do the best you can. That is all that can be expected of anyone.
<Cardassian fatalism>Why bother racing? We already know Team B is going to win, as networkman has always been on the winning team.</Cardassian fatalism>
We will race because there is still a chance for the other teams to beat on each other!
I see that the Empire will have to make an unholy alliance with the Federation...so be it! The threat from the other teams makes it necessary.
