I'm trying to get a geforce2mx to work in this asus k7m. Ive heard 2x wont work so im not trying that but in 1x im still getting banding and chunks of screen blanking out. its also very glitchy and an overall poor gaming performer. I was using a non tbird compatably epox 7kxa and getting much better gaming results but much lower cpu and mem scores. Ive tried diabling sidebanding but cant get it to turn off. Sandra says its off cpuid say its on, no luck. no oc'ing.

Epox 7kxa or Asus K7M Tbird 700
Geforce2MX (cheapy)
all current drivers(tried all)
196Mpc100 Kingston

If you are trying to turn video features on and off the only thing that I have found that works is Powerstrip. The first requirement is that you have a K7M that is new enough that Super Bypass is enabled in BIOS. If you have an old K7M you are on your own. I have a K7M with a slotA Tbird 900@1100 and a Visiontek GeForce2 MX that works perfectly at AGP2X in Win2K. Use the latest 4in1 Via drivers, the AMD AGP miniport driver, and try different Nvidia drivers til you find what works for you.

Im the one that gave him the board. No it doesnt have superbypass.I tried to enable it at one time and all i got was lockups.I remember looking at the numbers and the board was one of the first out.The thing is the mx he has was mine also and i had it at 2x in that exact board.I may have used powerstrip to enable it.I dont remember as i didnt keep the mx in the system for long.
