old Pocket PC and Vista

I have Pocket PC from 2000 that works great and is running a old version of its OS. I just got a new desktop (vista home basic) and I cannot sync them. I use the pocket pc for work and would like to sync with my new desktop. Any ideas? Is there a work around for activesync or a similar program that would sync to outlook?

It's been reported here that Vista's sync program (Windows Mobile Device Center) won't work with the earliest Pocket PC versions.
