I bought TV Capturer/TView CPH031/bt848 Capture Card in 1999...first purchase on eBay for me. USed it for a year or so, then got a TV and uninstalled the card...put card out it in the computer/electronics drawer.
Fast forward to today. I moved to Hawaii and am living with my parents while the wife and I get settled and find our own place. No money for TV. SO today I go to storage (my dad's office/warehouse) and pull out the capture card from storage (luckily I mailed instead of selling it at the garage sale).
Of course the cards drivers and softare (Win95) do not work on WinXP. I google the problem, find lots of people who can't make the same card (or card family) work on their WinXP computers. I do some Sherlock Holmes action on google, find a Australian site/company that still supports the card. DL their WinXP drivers and software...do some fidgeting and...
BAM
the drivers install, software loads up...and now I'm watching SportsCenter while typing this out!!!
Yes, I want a cookie...
Cliffs..
1. bought TV capture card in 1999
2. haven't used said card since 2000-ish
3. reinstalled card today (9/15/2005)
4. find updated drivers/software (after some Inspector Clouseau action)
5. watching ESPN on the computer
ps - I don't want it for actually capturing/recording TV, just viewing, so I don't care that it only captures in full AVI and pretty crappy at that, too...
website that saved my TV viewing!
