Check Sig.. I don't have the pci-e card to OC and bench "Rig 2"

Any harm in booting up with an old plane jane pci card
(that I have yet to dig of the "box o stuff")

Prices on Video Cards are so crazy I never want to plunge

EVGA 6600GT - 114 after rebate - BFG ASUS MSI look good too

GTO 150-200 ebay or ? LaserCUT??? I would REALLY like the VIVO
GTO2 210 or so STILL 100% 16pipers?

NEW* X1600 256bit? COOL DRIVERz! 1.4Gig Memory!
ATI has announced that the X1600XT will only cost $179 instead of the $249. The card will come with 256MB of DDR3 memory, and - you better sit down for this - X1600 XT also features 256-bit ring-bus memory controller and support for up to 512 MB of RAM. Now this sounds much better than the 128-bit variant sold up to now. I just feel sorry for all the current owners of the X1600XT with 128-bit. This will also make for some confusion when buying the card from now on, so you better ask for the 256-bit variant.

Aside from the latter half of your post making absolutely no sense, yes you can use a PCI card in an Opteron motherboard.
