I Have built a NES PC, and i would really like to hide other things near the computer i want to use in side other NES related products. The items I'm planning on hiding are USB hard drive, A compact external DVD rom, and a USB hub. I would like to refrain from hiding any thing in side the standard 2 button NES controller because i plan on actually modding a set for use with USB for Emulated games. What devices can you suggest that i may not be aware of that would be good for stowing these items? American, or Japanese NES stuff is fair game.

Stick the DVD-ROM drive inside an NES. You could put the USB hub in there too (at the bottom). You could probably fit the USB hard drive inside it too.

He built a PC inside of an old NES case.

He wants ideas on what kinds of PC devices and peripherals he can store inside of NES related cases.

The NES Satellite might be big enough to hold one of those. The Advantage might hold both.

Thanks so far for the suggestions. I lost track of this entry and just found it again today, otherwise i would have gotten back to you sooner.

Indeed, to clarify what i'm doing, i have placed a computer inside the gutted carcase of a Nintendo Entertainment System. Its using an Epia motherboard with an embedded 1.7 ghz VIA processor. Its using an 8600GT as its video card, and its using HDMI as its video interface. Its also set up for 5.1 surround. There is already a hard drive in it, but i would like to have an external hard drive all dressed up in NES clothes so it doesnt look out of place hooked in the front of the machine. Also, there is no room for a CD Rom in the NES because i have an 8600GT videocard inside taking up the space.

The satellite Looks promising. Thanks for the input.

An arcade stick might work with a slim DVD drive. You also have to find a way to work R.O.B. into the mix, if you can find a broken one cheap.

I wonder if you could fit a laptop drives (both HD and Optical) in cartridges. Then, you could use the dust covers on the ends with any connectors when you aren't using them. Heck, you could just hack the things in half seeing as the majority of the cartridge isn't exposed when the dust covers are on.

This is absolutely necessary. I'm sure an HDD would fit in the base, if not even if all you can do is stand the robot ontop of a normal external enclosure, you must make it so!

Also, you could try branching out and having a bunch of different 8bit-era consoles around.. Maybe a sega master system or Atari something or other. Similiar look unless you're going for a fanboi theme.

Niku, you said you fit a 8600GT card into a NES? Is this a low profile card? I am planning on building a NESPC sometime this year when I get enough $$$. I've been researching video cards and having a hard time finding a low profile card that will do audio over the HDMI. You said you got 5.1 audio set up. Could you explain in a little more detail.
Thanks much!
