"Old" My documents folder

To make a long story short - I installed Windows XP without doing a format. It left the old "My Documents" folder there, which when I try to delete it, access it, or move it, it gives me the permission denied error message. It is taking up quite a bit of space.

How do I delete this folder?

boot to Safe Mode as a Admin or yourself if you are admin.

I right clicked a folder> Security> Owner tab> Highlight login name> click on "Replace Owner on Subcontainers and Objs"> Apply

Then, go to Sharing tab on first window> Share this folder> Permissions> Add> enter login name> click "check names" then will autogenerate applicable name> Allow Full control> Apply

You now have full control of it so you may just delete it then.
