I just built a new computer, and I installed a modem from an older HP media Center into it. I can't get the modem to work, and I am assuming it is because I need drivers, but I have no idea where to find the drivers I might need, or even what model my modem is. Here are some of the numbers on the modem itself...

Agere Systems
HP P/N 5188-1026
S/N 05-116-163482
IC 4491A-D1156A1A
D53026K

If anyone could help me figure out what type of modem this is, and what drivers I may need, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Those drivers will not work at all. I've downloaded them straight from the website, and had them emailed to me. Both are corrupted, and won't even begin to install. What should I do?

If it helps, the model of the computer that the modem came in is HP m7060n... even HP's website does not tell the exact model of the modem.

They work. It just requires a manual install since its installation file doesn't play well w/ WinXP. I also have a Agere modem on my notebook & successfully installed the drivers manually.

In Device Manager, choose add hardware, modem, direct it to the installation folder. It works.

If your files are getting corrupted, somethings wrong.
Did you try the drivers on HP's site?
