Old MB ID???

Anyone help with the ID of two old MB's? I cannot find much on them to indicate what they are.
They are both socket 7 boards with both at and atx ps connections, both have 4 pci and 3 isa and 4 72 pin simms banks, also one has 3 edo, the other 2.
The only real differences are one has on board video (TX Pro II), and an IBM 6x86MX PR233 and the other has a full compliment of Intell chips including a Pentium 200.
I can't find anything that means anything to me on these boards,... no name, numbers, etc...
Anyone have an idea about how to id these??? Sites? Database? ANything?

If you can get them to post, hit the "Pause/Break" key.
That will freeze the screen.
Then write down the line of numbers and letters at the bottom left of the screen.
You can type them into google and also try Plasma online.


You could also post the characters here.

The TX Pro II is a PC Chips M571 board. The IBM cpu is a Cyrix.

Are there any TX or 430VX letters on the chips on the second board?

The one with the TX Pro II is probably a PC Chips/Elitegroup (ECS) mobo with a Cyrix processor (IBM made those CPUs under license for a time - might have been a contract FAB for Cyrix). The PC Chips site is usually horribly slow, so be prepared when you go searching. But at least you can get some info on it. I think they were the only ones that used the TX Pro chipsets. And it's where they garnered the sobriquet "PC Cheaps." The model no. is often on the mobo in the corner near the keyboard connector and sometimes covered with a small round label - they didn't want folks to know...
. The other will be more difficult as lots of board makers used Intel chipsets (and there were at least 5 series FX, HX, LX, VX and TX - the number on top of the chipset will tell you which series you have) including Intel themselves. Sometimes there is a label on the side of one of the add-on board sockets that will have the mfr. and model no. Others have mfr. and model no. silk-screened on the mobo itself. Can you post some clear pix of it?

Ok,... a little more info.
On the back of the board with the TX Pro is Elpina and BA E 9826, and on one of the ISA slots is M5F87425012 made in China.

On the Intel board it looks like a TX chipset, on the back is LITE ON 20vo 9737-77, a warranty sticker M80323-12 and 8030551 and the ISA slot SN:569057263003

If a couple of pix would help I can do that too.

Apparently the one was made by Elpina/Ability. Driverguide has nothing except that they once had a web site but it has been down since 2002... But I'm pretty sure that if you could match up specs with a PC Cheaps/Elitegroup mobo (made under many names like Matsonic, Eurone, Amptron, etc.) all the info would be the same.
. The other is apparently a LiteOn mobo and their web site is: www.liteon.com.tw . I found no info about it on the site, so you will probably have to send a message to their tech support and hope for a response.
Good luck - though they are hardly worth the hassle considering what a good used Athlon/Duron mobo from a major mfr goes for (or even a new one for that matter).

Well, thanks for all the imput.
I didn't think Lite-on made MB's.
You're right, I doubt they are worth the hassle,... just some junk I have from up grading some of my friends' computers.
I have 1 case/ps, a couple of simms, and a bunch of 1.5gb and smaller hd's. Thought I'd put an extra machine together to run Seti,.... prolly take a week to do one WU though ;-)

Elpina is just a maker of the blank board - their main customer being PC-Chips, at least in those days.

TXpro-II is PC-Chips' alias name for the SiS 5598 chipset. Used on M567, M571 and M571(L)MR BAT boards, and M596 mATX.
