old MB BIOS errors and windows95 probelm

I am working on someone's old compaq computer (pentium 100, 16mb mem) and I am having trouble with the BIOS. The computer starts with BIOS errors, but will not let me into the BIOS...(tried del, f1, f10, ctrl, and re-set the CMOS via switches)

And because I can't fix the BIOS errors, I can't load windows onto the machine.

so, my question is there a way to force my way into the BIOS settings, or is there some way I could find a new BIOS to flash?

thanks.

Have you replaced the CMOS battery, good place to start. Then clear the CMOS, it should clear when you remove the battery but it can take a while.
