Old laptop with password protect. No Floppy/No Cd-Rom

Hey guys:

Hope you can help. Old Hp Omnibook that I got at a garage sale.

Goes to password prompt right after boot.

How can I override this?

Someone in another forum mentioned removing the battery. Are they talking about the Laptop Battery or some kind of internal battery?

Thanks in advance.

If it's a Toshiba it takes a special "plug" to get rid of it ...you can find then on $bay auctions....about $25.00

OOOPS ! Sorry , just noticed it's a HP , but look on $bay anyway

Yeah, on the motherboard, there should be a CMOS battery. If you take that out for a few minutes and led the bios reset, it may lose the password info. That would be the best bet...
