I have an old (2 years) thermaltake heatsink, that has been sitting around my room for a long time. After sitting around for so long its not quite the shiny copper it used to be. The fins are all in good shape, just the copper is turning into a dull brownish color. Does this matter for cooling performance or should I not bother using it? (yeah.. kind of lame question, but I'd just like to be sure.)

It shouldn't really matter, but if you want go to an auto parts store and get the finest grit sandpaper you can find and polish it up.
