Do i have to reformat my old hdd, if i moved it to a completely new system and planning use it as primary hdd?

What could go wrong if i don't format that old hdd??

please help me out

Only a possible dodgy windows installation.
Can't see it having any irreversible detrimental effects on hw.
If you do have problems, then you can format and start from scratch - although I would always do that anyway with a new installation
