Hi all,

I'm going to be upgrading my computer soon (Epox K7HA+, XP 1700+) which means that I can dump some parts from this Gateway system into my girlfriend's computer. The motherboard is a Jabil (Kadoka) motherboard which I've never heard of (THANKS GATEWAY!).

I'm wondering what complications could result from this. If it were a VIA mobo, I know I would have to install the 4-in-1 drivers which wouldn't be a problem. Do I have to install drivers for this motherboard? If it helps, it's a Slot A mobo with a 900 Mhz Athlon in there.

Thanks for any info you can provide,

CK

eplebnista - Thank you for the quick and informative reply. After going through the links, it's my impression that I could just run this file:

<< AMD Driver Pack, Version 1.30 - (Detects the current operating system and hardware and installs the proper drivers. See the release notes for the driver versions included.) >>

from your second drivers link provided. Hopefully then that will detect and install the proper drivers I need. Do you think this would do the trick?

[EDIT]Sorry, I should specify that I plan on installing Win2K on her machine. That's what I have running on it now just fine. That might affect which drivers I have to install. Thanks.[/EDIT]

Thank you for your time and info,

CK

It should work o.k., the package needs to be installed before the Video Drivers though. If it causes any problems, there is always the option to try the ones provided by Gateway. I have used a Gateway board before in a standard case with no problems(with the exception of the fact that it took me a while to find the pin-out for the front panel header), although I would check to see if your existing Gateway case has proprietary front panel connectors(power switch, etc.). If so, you'll need a new case also.
