Old Games that are still worth Playing

Hi guys, I never was a big gamer back in the day. I first got into it with the DC and later games on the PSX. Now I am hooked though. I just finished up all my current gen games and sold them for money for the XBOX360. I only kept BF2 and HL2.

While I wait, I was thinking of catching up on all the games I missed out on. I had a Genesis and PS1, but I was pretty young. I still beat the great games like MGS, RE3, and Castlevania though.

IS it worth it to pick up any older games on the N64, SNES, etc. I already picked up a few PC games from the FS forum.

I might download Super Metroid, Ocarina of Time, and some others. What games do you recommend? Also, I saw that some modders retexture the games to make them look better. There was a screen of OOT that looked comparable to WindWaker. Do you know anything about these.

and pretty much all the game boys

There are so many awesome games to play on those, I can't list them.
For nostalgia/awesomeness,
super mario for the snes. I can beat it in, oh, 20 minutes or so.
 
Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Goldeneye, Super Smash! (64), Mario Kart 64, iono all those old N64 games.

PC? STARCRAFT! OMG I can't stress this enough. You still dont get the same kind of money maps, and sure defense maps may be better on War 3, but nothing beats the money maps of SC nor the infamous ling rushes.
 
Ecco man that was a good game.
I wish they made more side scrollers these days they are the best I like them better then most current day 3D games.
