This topic came up at the coffee shop this morning with some old friends.

Personally, my vote goes for Dire Straits first vinyl. I loved it (still do). It was a totally different sound that really grabbed you. "Down to the Waterline" is one of the all time great tunes.

Knopfler has a new cd out that is a return to his early style. Good stuff.

Do you have Sailing to Philadelphia? I really enjoyed that one.

As for freshman albums...I liked The New Radicals (but they broke up not long after. :frown: )

U2's Boy

Pearl Jam's Ten

i agree with U2 and PJ.
"Ten" is an amazing record, too bad they havent been able to match it.

Boston has an amazing debut LP. I don't think there's a song in it that doesn't get airtime.

Styx had a good first album too.

100% in agreement about Dire Straits too.

I love my collection of LP's.

ZV <-- Not old, just knows good music on a good format.

P.S. How's the fall going on the farm?

Ahhh....Styx. That was a great one as well.

Beans are done and the corn is about half finished. Its standing so well this year we are letting it dry on the stalk as much as we can. Its a hell of a lot cheaper than propane.

Beans averaged around 48 and corn is 190 to 220 🙂

Have to take some grain to the elevator this year cause the bins won't hold it. That is a good problem.

🙂

Good call on the Dire Straits album.

Van Halen was a good first album too (Runnin' With the Devil, Eruption, You Really Got Me, etc...)

I'll think about it some more and get back to you after I'm done with classes for the day. 🙂
