I have this tape back up drive to my Dell laptop with Windows 98SE via parallel port but the Backup Exec could not find this drive so I am unable to find the driver for this drive to work with Eagle TR-3 drive.

The reason I need to restore outlook express email messages off the tape.

HELP!

I know this drive is OLD but I need to get something important from the tape - Email messages that is.

hmmm ... Eagle is an Exabyte spinoff brand - but there's still no good news for you. Read this:

http://www.exabyte.com/support/online/downloads/downloads.cfm?prod_id=248

From what I saw in their knowledge base, you need to have the parallel port in ECP mode to read/write TR-3 media.

Plan B is to find someone with a backward compatible Travan-4 drive. Seagate's simpler "Hornet 8" series can read QIC-3020 aka TR-3 tapes, their "Hornet 8NS" cannot.

Thanks for the info..I lost Windows 95 CD but I will look to see if Backup Exec 2.0 might have the driver.

Good luck finding the driver. Over a year ago I was searching online for one and couldn't come up with anything. If you're lucky, someone else here may have one.
