I have an old Supermicro P6DLS (Dual Slot 1, LX chipset). I also can get two PII 400mhz (almost free/trade for them) that I would like to put in it. The PII 66mhz is the supported processors and the PII 400's run at 100mhz. Does anyone know if the 400's will work? Here's the link to the supermicro site that lists jumper settings P6DLS if it can help. According to what I picked up from 2CPU.com, the processors don't absolutely need to be the same speed and cpuid but if there are problems it eliminates mismatched processors as a possiblity. The website says the last processor supported for the LX chipset is 333mhz. I guess the real question from all you tech savvy folks, is what is possible versus what is "supported".

Any Dual processor websites in addition to 2CPU.com that anyone can recommend.

Thanks

They will work but only run at the 4X66 so basically 266. That 400 Mhz CPU is multiplier locked.
can you bump up the FSB to say 75 or 83 then you could get it up to at least 300 each?
Can you go higher multipliers it might say PII 333 but not take into fact celerons as the the 333 was the highest PII 66 bus speed.
Most LX mbs go up to 433 or 466 in multipliers and get appropriate celerons and you might be better off that way.

Ahh just looked at your link and you would be best to do Dual 400 mhz celerons 6X66 and then try to OC em to the 75 mhz FSB and get 450 outa them.
Should be able to find 400 mhz celerons for almost nothing too.
