Hey, I'm building a computer out of some spare parts, and I have an old Dell P3700 CPU hanging out here, and I'm wondering if I'd be able to use it with a new non-Dell motherboard. Is the CPU just a regular P3700 or will it not work with a non-Dell motherboard?

Thanks,

Matthew

Yeah, it'll be fine. Luckily Dell uses socketed chips and doesn't embed them into their motherboards :). You just might need to get a separate video and audio card, unless they motherboard you're using as a replacement has them onboard. A lot of Dell systems have integrated everything.
