Old Dell Optiplex G400

My research lab has this Dell Optiplex G400 (Intel Pentium 4 with RDRAM and supposed Intel 850 chipset). The 20GB IBM Deskstar died and the warantee is long gone. I think the Dell was purchased in 2001.

I want to buy a 200GB Maxtor because it is cheap and am wondering if the ATA Controller on this computer can access 200GB, or if it has the stupid 133GB barrier. Anybody have any clue as to how I can find out without finding ou the hardway?

Edit: n/m i guess i will buy the 200GB drive and find out the hardway. The BIOS revision is A02

Just ask Dell to check the barrier for you, I'm pretty sure they'll answer your question. You can also try and update the bios if there you can find one.

I'm amazed that my PII 450 system from Compaq supports the 160GB WD HD that i'd thrown in (which is like 7-8 years old), good luck~
