Would the FX5200 work in an old Compaq PII with an AGP v1.0 reported by CPUZ 1.31

It should wrk fine, best thing to do is call compaw and ask them if it's possible to upgrade your video card to a 3rd party card.

So long as it isn't onbord video then it should be fine.

No it wont work and could fry your motherboard as well. the old AGp standard calls for higher voltage through the card and will fry it.

If in fact that compaq mobo only meets AGP 1.0 standard then...no...a FX5200 will not work. If you can get your hand on a old TNT card..those will work. AGP 1.0 standard only supports 3.3 volt AGP card. A FX5200 will only work in 2.0 & 3.0 systems.
