Old Compaq, How do I make it boot without a keyboard

I have an old 133 compaq computer that is running as a smoothwall, and I want it to boot without a keyboard installed. I managed to get into the "user friendly" BIOS and it was the worst BIOS I have ever seen; It looked like Windows 3.1, and did not hat a halt on errors option. I think I have to do a mod of some kind. can you help me?
