What do you guys do with your old computer parts after you've upgraded with new parts?? Do you store them away, or throw them out, or try to sell them??? im curios cause i just upgraded and just want to see what to do with my old parts... which was p3 450, tnt2, 128 megs ram.

there is an anandtech for sale/trade forum, you would be surprised as to how many people are trading and selling parts. check it out

i just store my parts and try and build new comps. it's a hobby(to build as many computers as possible) built 2 so far.

They go into the Gigantic Monster of Doom I'm building to take over the world.

Yeah, my HMO quit paying for my Prozac. How'd you know?

run linux on them. use them as a test lab. you never know when a p2-233 comes in handy when a workstation at work crashes.

Actually, I keep them- most time when I upgrade a computer, wind up with sound card, video card, etc. Next guy may need it, and I can sell him the "used" part for a fraction of the price

Well, I have three boxes running right now, and when I upgrade my main box, the next box down gets the old part, and the crummy linux box gets the hand down from that. Whatever comes off the last box goes into a pile, to be used when fixing other computers. Vid cards, RAM, and HD's are especially useful for diagnosing a problematic computer.
