old board-new card

Senior member
i just got a HD 7950.
i put it in a skt. 775 board.
i get a pattern of columns of lines over my display.
i tried reseating the card /new drivers , no fix.
could it be that skt. 775 is too old for the newer card.?

An incompatibility between an old chipset/BIOS is always possible but it's highly unlikely unless the board is really, really old (as in P4 S755 old). I've tried a 7950 in two S775 boards with different chipsets, P35 and G41M, and it was fine. This sounds more like either a faulty card (can you test it with your S1155 board?) or a poor PSU or something.
