I have an old Droid Bionic that has been out of contract for maybe 2 years now that I want to log in and security wipe it. Trouble is I forgot the patter to unlock it and since there is no network, or even a way to configure the network settings since I am locked out of it, the google account can't be recognized to let me gain access to it. I've tried my account and pswd 4-5 times already. What can I do to wipe it?

Hmm, are those the only ways? I got into the bootloader and did recovery but it just booted back into the Android OS again

You should be able to access basic controls in the notification area, even from the lock screen. One of them being the WiFi on / off. Be near a WiFi that the phone remembered and turn it on. Then use some of the other Google stuff you have to access it (no idea what, but your OP would suggest connecting the phone to a network would somehow grant you access).
