Old "Beater" computer doesnt want to connect

Ok, I have an old old computer next to my newer one, my newer one being the hub. I have 2 other computers in my network (my sisters' and my parents') My newer computer, my sisters', and my parents' all use Windows 2000 but the "Beater" uses Windows 98SE. I have Earthlink ADSL and use WinPoET. When I try to log on using WinPoET on the Beater it gives me an error saying:

Error 629: The port was disconnected by the remote machine.

I am using a 4 port hub.
