Old AT case mod

Has anyone ever modified an old California PC products full tower AT chassis to use ATX motherboards? PSU change shouldn't be too much of a problem or even the motherboard tray, but the rear plate for all the ports is all one-piece construction. Looks as if major cutting would be involved. This is a heavy case made from some serious heavy gauge steel as well. Suggestions?

Actually, that back plate is interchangeable. You would not have to cut it at all. I wish I had that drive cage though, would be great for a RAID array

Are you sure its interchangeable? Looks like its welded/riveted (can't remember which at the moment) to the actual case. There is no pop-out plate. Holes for AT ports are cut out directly from the metal plate in back.

Can you say water coled Raid array server? That is a nice case. It is completely possible. Haven't done it my self but have seen it done and it isn't taht bad. That one actually seems that it has the openeing for interchangeable back plates. You might have to add mobo mounting holes and a little modding on the PSU.
