Old 8800GTS (320MB) Still a Good Card?

Hey all, I plan on doing some upgrading after the Q3 intel price cuts, gonna grab a 4 gig kit and a quad core, along with everything else that goes with it (upgrading from an x2 939), and I was just wondering if I should upgrade my 8800 gts 320mb, which I purchased last summer.

I only game on a 19" monitor, 1440x900 resolution, is this card still effective? Or should I ditch it and go with an 8800gt or wait for the new 4xxx cards from ATI?

Also, if my 8800gts is still good, i could spend that extra money on other upgrades...

(and yes, I do have somewhat of a budget, so if money is better spent elsewhere, i would go with that)

You should be good till the end of summer. By then all the new cards should be out and there prices should be stabalized.

IMO, you're better off waiting until the next gen stuff comes out (in a couple of months), then sell the 320 to recoup costs. Also, as long as you're not applying huge amounts of AA/AF to current games, I reckon the new setup should give your existing card a nice workout.

My 8800gts 320mb is still doing fine in AoC, Race Driver: GRID, and soon I bet it will run Mass Effect and Alone in the Dark just fine too. Good thing, because I didn't bargain for a new videocard till end of 2008.

I just picked up my 8800gts for $88 shipped a few weeks ago. I love the card. It'll be lasting me 2-4 years i'm sure. This card is by far not the bottleneck in my system.
