Old 775 upgrade question

Hello.
I have an oldie but workable computer that I want to "upgrade" a little bit.
Specs:
ECS G41T-M7 motherboard
E6750 @2.66GHz
4GB Ram
GTX295 Video card

I am only interested in purchasing another processor for it and I have these options locally (not US)
E8600 @3.33GHz $45
Q9550 @3GHz $93

I ocassionaly play L4D2, Hawken and Dota2.
Which processor would give me best bang for the buck?
I do not overclock. Dont even know if that motherboard is overclockable.
