I have recently obtained an old 486 Elonex PC-466 Computer (Award ID=08/11/95-ARIES-2A499000-00) on which I did a full install of Windows 95 (newest version. The install was completed with no error messages, however when I go into system/device manager properties the Hard Disk Controller group is expanded and the only option which is showing (National Semiconductor Dual PCI IDE Controller (RMM Support Only)) has an exclamation mark. Also on the Performance tab it says drives C: and D: are using MS-DOS compatibility Mode File System.

Do you know of anyway I can fix this problem as it really slows down this computer. Do you have or know of any drivers that will help?

Many Thanks.

Click on properties of the item with the exclimation mark. What is the reason it is exclaimed? Is it a conflicting IRQ, or wrong drivers, or what? Let me know.

The message says "device not present, not working properly or does nat have all the drivers installed. See your hardware documentation (code 10).

I have tried removing the device from the list and rebooting but it always installs the same way without asking to look elsewhere for other drivers.
