ENERMAX EG465P-VE
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16817103443

Link goes to specs. I know 460w will be enough wattage, but the connectors are where I'm worried. This works great with my old XP rig with an x850xl (agp), but I really don't know if the rails and connectors are adequate. I'd rather not nuke a new rig because I'm cheap, but saving some money would be sweet too.

+3.3V@35A; +5V@35A; -5V@1A; +12V@33A; -12V@1A; +5VSB@2.2A

I'm considering the upgrade to about this:

Q6600 or Q9550, depending on how much I decide to treat myself.
Single 8800gt, 4870, or something around this level of performance.
2x2gb ddr2
wd6400aaks + a 250gb hd
single dvd-rw drive
non-sli mobo

OCing the 9550 to 3.6 if I go that route, otherwise 3.2 with the 6600, video will stay at stock.

Think it's up to the challenge?

As long as it has an 8-pin connector to the CPU (or whatever these quad cores use), you should be fine.

List complete parts you want to use? Not just "quad core, pci-e single slot gfx"... cause thats wayyyy to vague.

Hmm yeah, the OP is ridiculously sparse.

Q6600 or Q9550, depending on how much I decide to treat myself.

2x2gb ddr2
wd6400aaks + a 250gb hd
single dvd-rw drive
non-sli mobo

Edited the OP for great justice.

You can buy 4pin to 8pin converters too, so there isn't a problem.

Yep, your answer lies in its connectors, as the raw power flow is adequate. You will also need a PCIExpress power connector for your new video card, and SATA power connectors, assuming you are updating your hard drive and DVD drive. A PSU from the age of AGP & IDE may not have these.

Awesome, thanks for the input. Now I just have to wait for the P45 to become reviewed, new video cards and price drops on CPUs. Argh.
