Old 440BX lovin'

Okay, friend let me mess around with her system, it's an old MSI-6153mobo on the 440BX chipset. I thought I'd have some fun with it! I remember reading a while ago users were downloading a utility to tweak the chipset?!? And gain more Memory Bandwith throughput? I know it's out there, but I've been searching around and I can't find it. Thanks!

BTW: I remember my old BX... ah those were the days

hmm, still presently using one of those boards without problems!
the only utility I know of is the intel chipset driver available from intel website but it's not really for tweaking the chipset.

I know the utility you mean. It's similar to the WPCRED(?) by H.oda you can get for VIA chipsets. It might even be written by the same person. I really wouldn't bother though if I were you!

I gave my old BX440 board to my father in law a few months back. The machine still runs perfectly (even with a Pentium 850 installed in a slocket). I never had one problem with that machine - don't know why I gave it away really 😕

I wouldn't bother trying to tweak the board though - you would hardly notice any performance increase.
