to Vermont for an Oktoberfest. no matter where it is it's still a party and so PROST!

Whereas it's not an Oktoberfest, I agree that if it is a party, GO! That's why I'm heading to Central Ave. in St Petersburg to celebrate a baseball team I don't care about. Mmmm beer.

The word "Fräulein" is actually antiquated.

I use that word to refer to girls wearing that particular style of clothes, what is the proper term these days?

Just Frau. Although I think it may be used to describe very young girls. But not unmarried women like it used to.

I was taught Frau as normal usage for unmarried women in the early 90s.

Well I was taught last year that it was antiquated and wiki confirms. I don't even think it was in the glossary in our book.

Gettin' old nakey!

I was living in Bavaria at the time, being taught by Frau Langhammer who couldn't have been over thirty-five ;)

I am volunteering at Charlotte's Oktoberfest this year. I doubt there will be such hotness present though.

I am only doing it because it gets me free admission to sample as much beer as I want from a bunch of brewers.

World beer Festival in Durham, NC next Saturday.

2 sessions of beer goodness.

1st session, noon to 4:
Good: guarantee of all the beers you'd ever want to drink
Bad: goodby rest of the day

2nd session, 6 to 10 PM:
Bad: some vendors run out of the beers you want to drink
Good: All the good looking girls come out to this one

I will be volunteering for the first session and drinker at the second. Damn, this year they move to the new baseball field and too far to walk from my home. (2 miles) The old stadium is less than a mile from my house. Funny thing -- where I used to live this new stadium would have been less than a half a mile.

And if you don't hook up after the second session, it means you already passed out.

What does she know? Some American kid has decided that it's antiquated and thus posted his opinion as fact on Wiki. Therefore it becomes truth in the minds of many kids nowadays.

The vice-president of my company was in Germany for some business, but at the very end of his trip he was able to attend the first day of Oktoberfest. Lucky bastard...guy likes to drink too, he must've had a blast. :p
