Video has been released

The shooting was at least accidental. The screaming, taunting, and holding him down while he died is just sick if they knew he had been shot. I hope the officers are being truthful when they claim that they didn't realize.

oh they knew. Anyone saying otherwise is full of shit.

There have been many stories of cops shooting someone and failing to do anything about it. When that cop murdered that 12 yr old boy they just stood over him letting him bleed out.

why anyone thinks cops are going to help amazes me.

"Oh, I shot him. I'm sorry," Bates said.

But then...

He shot me! He shot me, man. Oh, my god. I'm losing my breath," Eric Harris says as he struggles on the ground with police on top of him.

"F--- your breath," an officer can be heard saying. "Shut the f--- up!"

Its not murder, but it should be involuntary manslaughter. They shouldn't be giving out guns and tasers to the elderly.

The shooting may have been an accident, but the holding him down until he bled out was cold blooded murder.

Just add this video to the stack of daily videos where cops kill people needlessly. It has become so common that people don't even care anymore.

The word "breath" would rank fairly fucking high out of all the words you should NEVER EVER EVER use as a cop to fill in the blank of the following sentence: "Fuck your _____".

this.

Geriatric dude in the background with the shot has a case, probably; but not the super tat-arm dude that choked Harris to death.

all kinds of messed up.

They already investigated and found that 'An investigator who reviewed details of the shooting concluded that the deputy suffered a phenomenon known as "slips and capture."'

Of course you know this means that there will be no indictment. It was honest mistake. Slips and capture, happens to everybody. Sometimes I pull out my TV remote and accidentally blast my tv. It happens with my car keys too, my car is full of bullet holes. Slips and capture.

At first I thought that the confused old cop apologized to the guy he shot when he said:

"Oh, I shot him. I'm sorry."
But after thinking a minute I realized that he was apologizing to his fellow officers. Just remember that the next time you get pulled over by the cops that it probably would be a good time to call your loved ones and let them know that you love them.

While you have a chance.

ETA: The old fart who shot the guy is a "pay-to-play" cop. Wow, throw money at the cops and you too can pretend that you are a cop! Better yet, you will get a chance to kill a perp!

What a way to pad a community resume.

I don't intend to play devils advocate here, so I will.
But why are all these guys being shot running away?
Is this some new trend I'am unaware of?
I've been pulled over a few times in my past by a cop, and it never once occurred to me to take off running.
While we have a huge problem with cops and using unnecessary lethal force, I have yet to see video of a cop casually walking up to a car and blowing someone away.
In most cases, all cases, the guys getting gunned down are either running, resisting, cussing, fighting, anything but sitting in the car or standing still as ordered with arms extended.

Playing devils advocate, if I were a cop and knowing how many cops too are gunned down every year in the line of duty, I think I too would get a bit on edge with my adrenaline kicking in big time whenever someone begins to act unpredictable.
I mean, you never know.

Why would anyone suddenly take off running, resisting, cussing, attacking, anything except cooperating when addressed by a cop?
Did I miss something?
Is this the new cool thing to do now? Running away like a bat out of hell?
Like I said, I've been pulled over several times and never once did it occur to me to run away instead of handing over my ID and proof of insurance.

And when that person in question suddenly acts or reacts oddly and unpredictable, hell I think I as a cop just might wonder too if this situation could turn a 180 where I found myself in danger.
In every video game and most all movies of violence, cops are treated as fair game.
A lot of dead cops in those video games and movies.
I'm just asking.

lol that's terrible sportage. just garbage.

So if anyone acts "oddly or unpredictable" that is cause to shoot.

in THIS case the shooting was in no shape of form justifiable. not to mention he did also try to cover it up.

People have ran from police since the idea of police.

Except the people the cops shoot who aren't resisting.

The ones in the recent big shooting stories were. If you're getting arrested, lay on the ground, put your hands behind your head, and say "lawyer". Running or resisting is just piling on to the series of bad decisions you've probably already made.

Sometimes people are in a high stress situation and dont think clearly. Take the cop who put the repossession tow truck driver in a chock hold. He tried running from the cops and he was a cop! There is more to it then to simply say dont do something. Cops should be trained to understand they will deal with people in a stressful situation and try to deescalate things. Maybe thats asking to much of the sides of beef they seem to hire to beat and shoot people.

Pretty sure raise and promotion paperwork already started

I love how police don't render aid. They will wait a few minutes then call a ambo while holding a dying man down. Dead men tell no tales.
