Okay, where can I get DOS?

Yeah, I'm trying to reinstall Win 3.1 completely but I need to have DOS to install it. I've got 3.1, but no DOS disk except a 6.21 upgrade, which requires DOS 2.11 or higher to install. So yeah, now I'm left trying to find a copy of DOS somewhere, anywhere. Anybody know?

I don't think that's freedos is going to work.

I had that problem before.

I had win95. But that was a upgrade only.

Then I had Dos 6.0 but that was upgrade only, too.

Then I looked thru my dads old stuff and found Dos 3.something.

however it was on 5 and 1/2 inch floppies!!

So I had to find a old floppy drive that still worked. Installed 3. something, installed dos 6 over that. Then installed win95 over the network (didn't own a cdrom drive at the time.)

Whoopie.

Maybe find a Dos boot disk Image, plenty on the internet. Do a format /s on the HD using the disk image written to a floppy. The old command.com is all it's realy looking for I think.

Yeah, well see the problem is I've looked online and I can't find crap. I mean you'd THINK you could find dos easy, but nothing. It sucks.

Another possibility: bootdisk.com .

It has been ages since I ever installed Win 3.1, so I'm not sure of the requirements. How is it that you need dos? Do you just need a bare drive formatted with dos to install to? Then I should think you could find a bootdisk from which you could do that.
