The video has a slight stutter, which makes it fall behind the audio.

It replaces part of your normal video playback devices with a more reliable and universal file demultiplexer (you may be able to play more files or some more reliably). Once you install it it should automatically register itself in to any of the players you have (with rare exceptions). You can always uninstall it.

If that doesn't work, try getting ffdshow (replaces later part of video playback system). ffdshow will also automatically register itself. So just play your files like you normally do. You may have to go in the ffdshow config and enable the codecs though.

Go to the ffdshow start menu group, then video decoder config. Choose codecs at the left-hand side. Select all 3 DivXs to either xvid or libavcodec.

It's already set at libavcodec...

o_O

I am running a few things in the background, but that shouldn't do anything right?

Is there anything else I can do?

Oh, and is it normal for WMP10 to be using 95% of CPU when playing these videos?

Athlon64's have a LOT of trouble playing HD video unless AGP Fast Writes are enabled, make sure those are turned on in your BIOS.
