Looking at building a new system with a Geforce 8800 and would like to use a small micro atx cube case if possible. Will it likely get to hot inside the small case? I don' t plan to overclock anything.

There are lots of SFF cases that fit 8800 gts, GTXs on the other hand tend to need modding to fit. SG01E, Thermaltake lanbox, and alot of other Matx's will fit a 8800gts no problem. Some shuttles require the side of the case to be modded a bit. I have a SG01E that has a 8800gts and it friggin rocks.

If you get a good MATX board you can indeed overclock reasonably with no adverse effects if you use a good hsf and maximize airflow. I have a 4300 running at 2.7 at the moment and it could go higher than that If I need to. Dont over spend on a proc thinking you cant OC a MATX. Sure its a bit harder thermally but it can be done and save you money to invest in better components elsewhere.

It really all depends on the case and what kind of cooling is gonna be in the case. I think that if you have enough airflow and put as many fans as you can in the system that it should be fine. If you don't already have a modular PSU, be sure to get one because it'll make cable management a lot easier and allow for more airflow.

i think it'll be fine as long as theres sufficient cool air from outside of the case) blowing onto it. within a few weeks there should already be some good aftermarket heatsinks that u should invest in

Check this out: http://www.pcdesignlab.com
Model QMicra 2.

It's small cube case that can take 8800GTX without any modification. It is also can accomodate an H2O cooling if your prefer. It can also fits full size CPU heatsink up to Zalman 9700. It has 1 back 120mm exhaust fan, 2 120mm fans on the side (either use for H2O radiator or just plain classical air cooling).

a bit pricey at $319.

I'll be getting one when they ship.
