Okay, so what's the best Deoderant out there?

Edit: Poll added by type instead of listing each individually, because it seems to be a discussion on more of what type is better, with a nod to spray so far.

Okay, here's my dilemma. I use Gillette Gel with Power Caps and love the stuff, but it leaves white marks/stains on my shirts. This isn't a big deal usually because I wear a white tee under most of my work clothes.

But it's ruined a few shirts I've worn just by themselves (for example, just a green t). I've found that putting the deoderant on then waiting ten minutes or so to put a shirt on reduces this problem, but when I'm getting ready it's time to get ready and go right? Who wants to wait around?

I've tried other gels, and they either don't work as well, or they do the same thing. Only the gel with the power caps keeps you so fresh and so clean all day long after a humid crazy hot day in SC.

So, enough on my personal bs.....I know others here have got to have shared a similar issue, so let's determine the best deoderant out there once and for all.

Discuss.

(BTW, I searched deoderant and found jack repost screamers)

I say lets get a list of everyone's personal favorites and I'll make a poll.

BTW, say whether or not your choice leaves marks please, if you don't mind

Cliffs:

Post your favorite deo and why you love it.

The best antiperspirant that I've found is Mitchum's Hydro Solid unscented. Doesn't stain my shirts, and usually keeps me from sweating.

Arm & Hammer Deodorant/Antiperspirant (stick)

Scents aren't too strong, it lasts, works well, pits don't stink/sweat. It comes out in the wash if you get it on shirts. I don't like gels or sprays.

See, I'm not a fan of stick deo because I hate that feeling of pulling on the hair there. Why do you not like gels?

I personally haven't had much experience with different kinds of deoderants. I once used this Old Spice deoderant, but it really didn't work at all. I currently use Right Guard Power Stripe thing, and I like the smell, but it doesn't do much good when I start to really sweat during exercise. I will definitely try a gel next time.

For me personally I tried the regular Gillette gel and I had the same problem you do, I guess it's something to do with the powercaps in the other stuff.

Soap + Water

😉

If you smell best thing to do is take a shower, not try to mask it with another odor.
The best stuff though, I feel, is the stuff that doesn't give off nay smell -- deodorants that absorb the smell rather than mask it.

Ban is pretty good and it is cheap. I am using Brut myself right now if I just don't have time, but like I said before Soap+Water is best.

Don't like the wet feeling under my arms. I know it's temporary, but I hate it. Sprays are the best for the dry feeling and no hair pulling, but I hate breathing that crap in, it makes me gag.

Ummmmm....I assumed most here showered once a day. I do every morn and scrub all the vital areas. You never know when a Penthouse Forum letter moment might happen 😉

Gillette gel....or any gel really. Nothing protects like the gel...damn stuff works so well I've got my gf sniffing at my armpits by choice.

another vote for arm and hammer deo, just picked it up recently and it works very well, i feel it keeps me dryer than old spice, which is what i used to use. Never liked gel and such, what good is deo if you get stains all over your shirts. Tried a few others over the years, but most i'd smell my pits by the end of the day, though i do have a pretty good sence of smell.

i used this old spice fresh scent solid that i bought many years ago and it smells great ubt only works ok. this new old spice red zone soft solid (mountain rush) works well but doesn't smeel as good. this right guard xtreme stick sorta dried out and doesn't even apply anymore so it sucks. i have an adidas spray (sport fever) that i use in the gym to instantly freshen up smells great but doesn't work so well. i use it like a colonge.

I never found any of the OTC deoderants to be very effective. The most powerful deoderant ever is Drysol. You can get it OTC in Canada or on ebay (or through a doc) in the US. You apply it at night before you go to bed. I use it every other night and literally will not sweat at all under my arms for the next 2 days, even during intense workouts or when I'm outside in 90+ degree temps.

That sounds scary!

Yeah you gotta be careful with it. If you use it too often or apply too much at once it will leave a nasty rash.

that doesn't sound too healthy to me.

I use the Old Spice solid deodorants.
I used an Old Spice gel deodorant as well, but prefer the solid ones because with the gels it felt like too much down there. And the gel doesn't leave any marks.

I got nasty rashes from using any Old Spice deoderant, no matter how often or how much I used. Maybe those aren't safe either?😕

Heck, the stuff didn't even work, although it did smell nice.

Right now, Right Guard Extreme w/Power Stripe/DryTek (solid) which sadly AFAIK is discontinued. Doesn't leave any stains on my white tees, smells good, and works pretty good too.
Before that, AXE Dry (solid) which only smelled good. Stained the ****** out of my tees and did a horrible job at being an antipersperant.
Before that, Right Guard Extreme and Gillette gels, without their new power beady crap. Gillette stuff was ok in all three departments, Right Guard gel didn't work as good on sweating but didn't stain any shirts.
