Okay - so I messed my computer up again.

So I finally get my computer stable - hey maybe I should overclock!

...
So after trying to see where I can get it to POST, I finally decide that I'm just going to run it at stock for a while longer. I load the BIOS defaults, and reboot.

Freeze on POST (after detecting devices), D-LEDs display GREEN-GREEN-RED-GREEN, which is explained in the manual as 'Assign all ISA'.

Reset the battery, try again - same thing.
Pull out all PCI cards, try agin - same thing.

Unplug computer, and short battery overnight, try in the morning - same thing.

!!?

First, what kind of board is it? Also, check all the jumpers and voltages, its possible that setup defaults could be setting the voltage or something incorrectly.

Sorry -

Athlon 1Ghz
MSI K7T 266 Pro.
At default settings, FSB is 100Mhz, and the rest of the settings at 'Auto' for the CPU. (which means the CPU runs at 750 Mhz)

I cannot imagine that you busted it🙁 but then again it is the VIA chipset which has had its problems. As a last ditch effort try Flashing the bios to the msi latest MSI V1.3
and check ALL the voltages, it sounds like its undervolting if its hanging on post.

Its already the latest BIOS - and regardless, I can't flash since it doesn't get far enough to let me do anything.

The voltages are set manually now, and I've still go the problem. 🙁

Hmmm, im stumped, does that board have a way to clear the CMOS? Also pull out all your cards(especially video card, have had those pop out before), memory, and CPU and reseat, other than that im out of suggestions 🙁

Rough situation you've got there. Is it possible you damaged the CPU by going higher and higher? Not trying to rain on your parade...just playing Devil's Advocate...do you have another AMD processor you could try in there? Just a thought. Good luck Naughty.

I would first try another power supply first, then I would try a hot flash, you need to find a friend with the same motherboard. Get them to boot with a boot disk with the latest bios, then once his machine is booted pull his CMOS chip out and put yours in and then flash your BIOS chip once it is done, take your chip out and place it back in your machine, and put his back in his and reboot his machine.

I've thought of that too - but it doesn't make sense that the CPU fried, since its hanging on 'Assign all ISA'. I'll try underclocking the hell out of it and see what that does.

If all else fails, hopefully I can RMA.
