Okay...PSP or Gameboy Advance?

For those of you who know I'm in Tokyo, I came across a PSP for VERY cheap - ¥6800 yen, which translates to a bit over $65 (promo). I can do one of two things:

Sell it or Keep it.

Now the problem is I already have a GBA, and this is enough for my needs, but I hear you can emulate GBA on the PSP if you so desire - so ideally, I could ditch the gameboy, keep the PSP, and have both video game consoles on the same machine - with the added WiFi to boot. (I don't think posting about this violates any rules, does it? 😱)

So...what do I do? The PSP is region 2, so that excludes using it for movie watching. I really don't see myself keeping the PSP for games very much, and I already have a laptop...so the WiFi is kind of nothing special, really, especially since the PSP character input system is such a PITA.

Right now I am leaning toward selling it. Any opinions? Is there something cool about this gadget I'm not seeing?

keep it only if you're gonna be playing with it. Otherwise, it will just go down in value. you can probably sell it for around ¥20000

What firmware version is it? That should directly influence whether you keep it or not.

If it's 1.5-2.0, keep. If it's 2.01-2.5, get rid of it.

If it's a keeper, get a 512MB-1GB memory card and google something called NeoCDPSP. You'll be glad you did. 🙂

Keep the psp. There are so many things you can do with it, including emulating other systems. Mmm...SNES on psp😎

$68? Do you REALLY have to ask?

Theres a program to downgrade the firmware now so having an updated one shouldnt be a problem 😀

Agreed, sell that sucker 😉 You'll get some fool on eBay to give you triple that!

There aren't really any decent games out for the PSP. Do you really want a $250 mp3 player? You can get larger screens on portable DVD players and don't have to deal with buying the DVD AND the memory card AND ripping from DVD to lower quality to fit on a memory card, blah blah blah.

GBA SP is the way to go.

The GBA has much better games. I bought a PSP at launch and have played it for maybe 10 hours tops. On the other hand, I play something on my GBA Sp everyday here at the office.

If you don't know what you're talking about, don't correct someone.
