okay, I am done dreaming, 30k is way way wayyy out of my budget. I will settle with the Mazda6 4 banger and start saving or gambling.

actually, after mdcrab mentioned the Scion, I completely forgot about the upcoming tC!!!!

scion definitely a good buy for that price. coming from toyota build it's going to be reliable so you don't have to worry about driving it 5 miles and then back to the shop 🙂

and there should be a supercharged version...

Base Z is under 30k, I got mine for 31.5 out the door, one step up from the base model. The gas mileage is decent, (get around 23 w/ city/freeway mix, hit 26 on freeway only)

The RX8 IS under 30k, but it's no where near the performance of the Z, But it does have 4 seats.

🙂

287 hp / 274 ft-lbs torque (most of it available @ 2000 rpm) vs 238 hp /159 ft-lbs torque. That's all you need to know. but it looks like you're looking for a 4 seater, if so the Z ain't for you

Bah. Accord EX-V6 coupe with 6 speed. Now you're talking. They're about $25k (shouldn't be any markup where you are). They'll run low-mid 14's in the quarter mile. Awesome interior. Sounds like a winner to me.

BTW, Mazda6 6 cylinder sucks. I drove one and was thoroughly unimpressed.

I am gonna second that, the six speed accord is actually quite upgraded from the other accords. It has bigger brakes, bigger/wider wheels, revised intake/intake manifold. You can also use 04 TL-S front+rear sway bars to get even better handling. They are direct bolt ons and the set is under $150. Way more balls than the TSX. Actually faster than all the cars in your list. 😛

4-door Accord EX 4-speed with leather and Navigation, followed by the Scion tC if you want a cheaper good car😛
