i was in syracuse univ/SUNY-ESF for a conference and today while leaving there, i took some pics of the beautiful buildings of SU. Lets see if you can see the problem in my sample picture.

Well.. lets just say that i got a problem.. and i cant think of whats causing it. i have a feeling i got to send it back to canon. I think i got a best buy service plan on it, i am not sure who i should send it to, i would think canon will do a better job on it.

Lets just say i see it more when shooting in landscape rather than portrait and its not a barrel distortion. but its there both on landscape and portrait regardless of zoom levels.

Only link that works is picture #4 & its too small to see what the problem is for certain ... it does look a bit darker then it should though.

One thing I can tell you is don't bother to take it back to Best Buy unless all they are going to send it to Canon for you ... you'll most likely get it back in exactly the same condition you gave it to them in if they try to "fix" it!

its not the 'darkness' of the picture.. its the fact that the picture is slanted.

Doesnt matter which level of zoom or which orientation, its tilted to teh right. Always..

not sure if its a problem or not, but i hate it. I just started noticing it.

what? all i see is that you're holding the sensor plane in an orientation that is not parallel to the plane of the building's face. unless the planes are parallel the lines of what you're taking are going to be converge.

I had this issue with my S3 IS... it drove me nuts, I thought it was me but I really think it was the camera has I don't seem to have this issue my XTi. Try turning on the grid in the viewfinder.

I had the grid on.. you know i think the issue is with teh sensor. When i get back to CA, i am going to call canon and talk to a techie. Its fscking irritating.
