Am I missing something???...

Dunno, but I had trouble with my V5 PCI and win2k drivers, so I had to go back to winME. Lemme know how it works out though :) I was planning on getting an AGP card and using my V5 PCI in a dual monitor config as well to run my older FSAA games and my GF3/Radeon 8500/whatever else as my FPS card. Then I'd probably go dual-boot and use Win98SE for my V5/FSAA games and WinXP with a new AGP card that has good WinXP support.

Yea, I'm absolutely sure, full 32 bit color, with support all the way up to 1920x1440 (high as my monitor goes)

and says Voodoo 5...
...
I didn't have to do a thing either..
really wierd..
any clues???..

ain't it sweet :) same thing happened here, i was waiting for the ugly default 256 color screen to come up and the ensuing pain of tryin all the sets of XP drivers i had DLed... but to my surprise it booted in crisp color ~!!!, the included drivers seemt o be decent too, just wish 3dfx tools would work so i can set the antialiasing and stuff =P anyone know how to get 3dfx to work in XP?

their are microsoft voodoo5 drivers built into xp already but they only support directx and i think they use a opengl to directx wrapper for opengl games. also no 3dfx tools or glide without actually getting some hacked drivers for xp

running anice celery800/100 and new via appollopro133t chipset board from asus the Tuv4x .

and Yes ms has released an updated xp driver via windows update.. but it doesn't support glide or those 3dfx tools. and my experience with the hacked drivers has been horrible so far. VERY VERY VERY buggy system freezes and I have tried about 4 different sets of supposedly good drivers. What really bites is when I do a get a driver to work games look so sweet set at aa2 like max payne. And they run butter smooth.. but after about 20 minutes.. boom the system will FREEZE totally. and I have to hit the reset key. its horrible.

I am praying that MS releases full xp v5 drivers that support glide and ogl then we would be soo set. and I wouldn't have to worry about crash and burns.. if not

I think I will save up what little cash I have and get the hercules kyro3 board with 64 meg.
