they're using you to launder their money. they probably defraud someone else, give them your account, and then you send them their money. then you're left holding the bag when the original person wants their money back.

I always wait till paypal clears to my bank account, then paypal cant touch it.

What if you scam them back? they send you that $2500, you close your account and don't send them the money ?
