Anybody ever seen a problem where keystrokes are lost even on the BIOS screens?
If keystrokes were getting lost only once the main OS is booted, I'd tend to suspect an interrupt is getting lost somewhere. But my guess is the BIOS uses polling instead of interrupts so that blows that theory.
Any clues? It doesn't happen often and it doesn't seem to be tied to a particular key.
System is relatively new IBM Intellistation M Pro. It literally fell off a truck on our loading dock a while back and had been sitting in the box unopened for about a year (the project that had ordered it got terminated and this machine kinda fell through the cracks...so I have it in my office now). So anyway the machine appeared to be undamaged but who knows. The problem doesn't happen enough for me to be able to call for service and expect them to be able to reproduce it...
I'm kinda scratching my head on this one...
