Okay doing a new build. Mobo and ram advice.

I have a 2tb samsung ssd for os- windows 10
I have an intel i5 6600k on order
I have a r290 gpu

So looking for a mobo and new ram.

I have owned :

Maximus V Gene
Maximus VI Gene

Liked both of them.

So does anyone have A Maximus III Gene and Ram build as of today.

IF so do they like it.

I have a desire for mAtx case

well any one that used them so far please tell how they are for you and what ram you used.

My needs are a decent gamer that can also do htpc, net, streaming, some accounting, recording and mixing sound tracks.

On the case of the motherboards, the Asus has USB 3.1 ports, but has to use an Asmedia controller to get them. Gigabyte looks to have Intel chips only, but settles for USB 3.0.

According to this thread, getting Asmedia 3.1 drivers for Windows 10 may be an issue ATM:

Yeah I read the thread and decided to hold back on the build. Until I could get more info.

USB 3.0 or 3.1 not a big issue for me. I may look into this gigabyte board
